Introduction to Guitar
The guitar is one of the world’s most popular musical instruments. It is used in almost every genre of music, including Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Worship, Bollywood, and Folk.
A standard guitar has 6 strings and can be played using a pick or fingers.

Guitar Strings
A standard guitar has six strings.
From the thickest to the thinnest:
6th String – E
5th String – A
4th String – D
3rd String – G
2nd String – B
1st String – E

Finger Numbering
The left-hand fingers are numbered as follows:
1 = Index Finger
2 = Middle Finger
3 = Ring Finger
4 = Little Finger
The thumb is placed behind the guitar neck to provide support.
Correct Sitting Position
Sit comfortably on a chair.
Keep your back straight.
Rest the guitar on your right leg (or left leg for classical style).
Keep your shoulders relaxed.
Avoid bending your neck too much while looking at the fretboard.
Good posture helps prevent fatigue and improves playing accuracy.
Standing Position
Use a comfortable guitar strap.
Adjust the guitar to waist level.
Keep the neck slightly raised.

How to Hold the Pick
Hold the pick between your thumb and index finger.
Keep only a small portion of the pick exposed.
Do not grip it too tightly.
Use wrist movement instead of moving your entire arm.
